Gal's Night. Finally.

My friend Abby invited us over for a wine night out on her porch and it was just what the doctor ordered. More like, it was just what 2020 ordered. I think not being able to see people we love will continually be one of the hardest parts of quarantining and life afterwards. As humans, we crave and need connection with each other.

Gina's Boutique: Saugatuck, Summer night, Sailboats

Had the opportunity to shoot these lovely gals for Gina’s Boutique. There’s something magical about a lake town during Michigan summer. Dinners on patios, boats quietly bobbing in the water, people wandering the street, ice cream cone in hand. Picture perfect. This year felt a bit different, but the magic was still there.

Happy Birthday Star Wars Style

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, Doug’s Aunt showed him the Star Wars movies. He loves them to this day and I think that most of it is rooted in the sentimental memories of watching them with her.

Stacie: Business Owner, Beyonce Fan, Ambassador

Had the honor of snapping photos of Stacie who owns Barre Code here in Grand Rapids. You know when people refer to people’s energy? How you can just sense if it’s good or bad? Her’s is 100% good. Even when you just meet her, there’s this realness that comes through that makes you immediately feel at ease.

Corridor Coffee: Cool gals, Floral Wallpaper, Yummy Coffee

Corridor Coffee is a cozy spot on the Westside of GR. The new owners put up the most stunning black and floral wallpaper that I noticed while driving past one day. Ironically, I was asked to take photos there a couple weeks later and got to meet the fantastic owners.

Summer 2020 Wins the Race

I often think of this when we are taking walks at 9 pm and it’s still light out. It’s like I’m trying to capture the warmth, smells, light to use on cold winter days that feel endless.

The Power of a Pink Dress

I feel like my style has been a bit…interesting lately. By interesting, I mean that I have basically been wearing some iteration of a t-shirt and joggers since early March. With everything going on in the world and our family, fashion clearly wasn’t a necessary focus.

Gina's Boutique: Strong Women, Romence Gardens, Flowers Galore

I recently took photos for Gina’s Boutique a local clothing boutique. The backdrop was Romence Gardens here in Grand Rapids which was in full, colorful, happy bloom. I love doing shoots like this and getting a chance to chat with the models who are often local professionals/creatives/all around cool gals who either model on the side or do this on the side.

Now Welcoming: Fresh Air

Between summer and still living in a world of Coronavirus, I find myself craving time outside. I have been working from home much more than normal and I am surprised at how different that feels vs. heading to a coffeeshop where there is noise/people/conversation around you. It has left me looking for ways to be around people in a responsible way and head outdoors.

It's Been Awhile

It’s been awhile my friends. Been awhile since I have felt as though I could write thoughts down. I have wanted to and actually started/deleted this post many times. Writing has always been a safe haven for me, but for the first time, I felt like I didn’t find peace in ‘the words’.
