Vintage Champagne Buckets, You Win.

Easily one of my favorite vintage finds.

I think that one of the reasons that I like going antiquing is that it feels like a treasure hunt. You never know what you might find while you’re ‘in the wild.’ That and there’s always a good dose of nostalgia to go along with your search like the lamp that you had in your house growing up or the set of dishes that everyone’s Grandmother seemed to have.

One of my all time favorite finds are champagne bucket trophies. I collect loving cup trophies but to me, these are the holy grail. They’re more rare (although trophies are getting tougher and tougher to find) so when you find one it feels extra magical.

I love to see the stories behind these pieces and what folks used to find trophy worthy. This one is from the Indiana State Fair which is fantastic.

These beauties are still 100% functional as champagne buckets. They’re a fun option for chilling a bottle of champagne while you enjoy a meal. But, another use I have fallen in love with is as a vase for fresh flowers. There’s something about colorful flowers spilling over the top of the trophy that brings me a lot of happy. I love a good, unique vase and this one takes the metaphorical cake.
