Plaid Duster, 4 Ways

Fell in love with this coat. Target, ya did it again.

Age old story: you walk into Target for something you need, and walk out with treasure you weren’t expecting. This Target run wasn’t any different. Went in for some toiletries, came out with this plaid coat. It’s pretty light weight which has been great for this generally unseasonably warm November. I loved the duster length of it and the thin line of pink that ran throughout the pattern.

When it comes to coats for me, versatility is key. I could envision this find with a lot of different outfits so I was sold. Here are a couple ways that I have worn it already:

• KEEP IT SIMPLE: For the outfit in these photos, I wore it over black ankle length pants with a mock turtleneck, and patent loafers.

• LENGTH AND LAYERS GAME: I do love a good long layers moment. This coat was the perfect top layer over a crisp white tunic length shirt. Distressed denim and a neck scarf finished up the look.

• JOGGER CAS’: Might not think of a coat like this over a casual outfit that includes joggers, but that’s what’s great about it. For a Saturday morning of running errands, I wore this jacket (pockets for keys + wallet since I didn’t feel like hauling a purse), black joggers, white graphic tee with black lettering, and comfortable sneakers.

• OVER, DRESSED: One of my favorite going out looks is a shorter dress (above the knee people not like up in the club) with a long duster over top. This plaid number was a great top layer with a plain shift dress and ankle heels.
