The Story of a Sunflower Field

Each photo tells a story.

I am a firm believer that every photo tells a story. Each communicates a feeling, event, memory, or intention. The story behind this endless sunflower field are a bit lighter, but a story all the same.

You wouldn’t know it from looking at these photos but in the background was an entire tour bus of the cutest visitors. Their giant Greyhound pulled up and off came the most spirited group (all of them were easily over 80 years old). They took turns snapping photos of each other sitting in a wooden chair that was nestled into the impressive display of sunflowers.

In contrast, there was a man bun’d little gentlemen running in between the giant sunflower stems. Given how taken I was with what we were looking at, I couldn’t even imagine what the field looked like to him. I watched my dear friend chat with him (she’s supermom) and show him the pretty flowers.

I love that some stories, some photos, some moments are so palpable no matter what age you are; that beauty in God’s creation can be admired no matter what the angle is that you’re looking at (or up at) it. We all kept standing back, staring, and quietly muttering things like, “I can’t believe how beautiful this is.”

It’s our story, the human story…whether you’re in your golden years or a curious 1 year old adventurer.

Sincerely,
Ashley
