This Spring Feels Different

Oh my goodness, there’s something to look at other than brown trees.

Spring this year feels really important. While life isn’t completely back to normal (PS-I think that post COVID life will be one of those new-normal situations anyway), there are remnants of normalcy that seem to be coming back each day. I can’t believe how life giving that feels. As a society and individual communities, we have been wandering through strange, heartbreaking, and simply new territory since March of last year. It was as if the world took a collective gap year and now we are making our way back to business as usual.

Back to the Spring stuff. I think that both what we have been through in the past year and the hopeful tomorrow is what makes this season feel. significant. Life and color are all here both literally and figuratively. There seem to be these optimistic whispers of hope that make the blooms of the trees feel symbolic.

In this spirit and in the spirit of celebrating a bit of “normal” life, I ventured out with a friend to snap a few photos. We had both admired this set of blush colored trees when driving past them and figured we should document them.

It felt so very regular…quick photo session in between meetings, outfits that aren’t joggers and a hoodie, friends seeing each other. Man, these days I am so very grateful for and humbled by regular.

A blazer, top, and skirt is one of my go-to looks whenever I’m running stuck especially when I have a day of meetings. It’s put together, but not fussy. These are all older pieces, but I’m sure you have similar items in your closet that you could use to build this look.
