Crisp White Shirt

When you mean business kind of an outfit.

There are certain clothing “strategies” that I have found helpful. While I like to keep it fairly open for my mood, there’s something mentally helpful (and efficient) about having a pseudo uniform for busy days. When I know that I have a bunch to do like back to back meeting days, my go to look is a crisp white shirt. This might sound fairly elementary, but there are ways to spice things up and keep it interesting: adding a hat, blazer, statement jewelry…

I think what’s helpful is that it checks one more box of the things that you have to get done in the morning. It allows you to focus on your day instead of wasting time trying to figure out what outfit sounds good. Again, I am all for outfit spontaneity, but it’s nice to have an idea in mind for days when you don’t have the desire/bandwidth to style a look.

A FEW OTHER DON’T-HAVE-TIME-TO-THINK-OUTFITS (Plus an idea for how to elevate it).

  • Plain black t-shirt and black pants (leather jacket)

  • Jeans and a graphic tee (neck scarf)

  • Maxi dress (long kimono)

  • Matching set (hair up, statement earrings)

  • Joggers and white tee (jean jacket)

I hope that this provides a few ideas for those days when you have a lot on your plate. What’s your default work look?

Sincerely,
Ashley
