The dress that started it all.
On the last edition of Sincerely C U R R E N T L Y, we went the accessories route and styled ankle strap heels. To celebrate the last month of summer we have left, we wanted to feature the dress that started this entire series!
We both purchased this Who What Wear Collection dress without knowing the other had as well. When we discovered it, we knew that we had to do some kind of post/feature/photo. And, Sincerely C U R R E N T L Y was born. You know you made a good style choice when your blogging bestie grabbed the same one. We love that this dress represents what this entire series is about…that it shows the different perspective people can take on the same item while learning from each other.

KHERINGTON
As usual, Kherington brought a unique take that I so appreciate. I feel like this is what she does best: takes pieces that most would wear in a certain way and flips it. Brings new life to it. The dress has a very straight, linear shape so she belted it at the waist to add dimension. Her statement earrings brought another pop of color and really highlighted the beautiful tones that are in the print. However, my favorite part of the way she styled this look was the fact that she paired everything with Converse sneakers. It brought a completely different vibe to the look.
While we still have some warm weather left, I will definitely have to wear this another time just so I can pair with some white sneaks. Am I cool like you yet K? :)

It was love at first sight; this dress checked all of my style boxes:
Shape? Yes.
Ruffle? Yes.
Stripes? Yes.
Color? YES.
This dress is the perfect balancing act. I have worn this to nicer summer event and with a messy bun/sandals to run some errands. I really enjoy malleable items like this because I think they allow you to get more use and value out of your wardrobe. This number is a statement for sure, but the material allows you to dress it down if you want. Well, as dressed down as you can be in brightly colored stripes…
