Making a Statement with Larissa Loden

A question that I will receive from time to time is what I would include on my staples list for accessories. A consistent answer for me is statement earrings. While I love that these earrings aren’t shy about what they add to an outfit, the best part is that you can find winners regardless of your personal style. Minimalist style? Check. Gems? Check. Color? Check. Stand alone metals? Check.
Statement earrings are a powerful asset to any outfit. While they are physically small when you scale them to your other wearables, they often pack the most powerful punch. One of my favorite ways to style them is with a plain top and low bun to allow them to be the star of the show (add a hat to this look if you’re feeling extra fancy). There’s also something magical about a happy print + loosely pulling your hair half up to let them peek through. No matter what the vibe is, I look at earrings as the exclamation point that ensembles so often desperately need.
So now for the good stuff: where do I get them? One of my favorite sources for earrings that hold significance are from Larissa Loden. The Minnesota based studio crafts the most beautiful earrings using everything from brass to natural gemstones. I love that the team of artisans that Larissa employs includes and provides income for mamas, sisters, students, and creatives.

To keep it from darkening, avoid things like wearing it while skinny dipping in the lake, rubbing it down with lotion or sweating all over it at the gym. If you do one or all of these things see above tip for how to deal. In general, don’t throw it at the bottom of your purse or drop it on a hard floor. Treat it like it’s special and loved, and it will love you back for a long time to come.

I love the shape and heft of these. They are stunning on the backdrop of a plain shirt or as a nice stopping point if you’re rocking a busier pattern.

More delicate than Penda, Eileens are an elongated look that like to dance. Again, fantastic when paired with a neutral moment or they provide a nice dose of whimsy if you are opting for a more entertaining fabric.
Rethink accessories. Necklaces, rings, and bracelets will always have their lovely place, but I’m challenging you to add some unique, funky, magnificent statement earrings to your line up. I can’t wait to see how you style them!
